Find my tank by its measurements

Measure the outside of your tank and enter the sizes. The finder compares them with 406 tanks from the makers' own documents and lists the closest models, with a link to each one.

How to measure for the finder

  1. Select the shape of the tank as it is installed.
  2. For a round tank, wrap a tape around the widest point. Divide the result by 3.1416 to get the diameter.
  3. Measure the overall height from the base to the top of the lid, or the overall length from end to end.
  4. For a box or an oil tank, measure the outside length, width and height.
  5. Enter the values and read the list of matches.
  6. Confirm the model with the label, the nameplate or the SKU code on the tank.

The finder uses the outside sizes that the makers print. Ribs, bands and lids make a tape reading vary by a few millimetres. A difference of 2% or less is a close match.

What the finder covers

406 models: Chem-Tainer (147), Norwesco (120), Sintex (115), Vectus (10), Granby (4), Roth (4), Manchester (4), Snyder (2). Every size comes from the maker's own brochure, drawing or product page, as listed on the manufacturer tanks page. Retailer listings are not used. Roth figures are the outside of the steel outer tank. For a Chem-Tainer elliptical tank, select Oval and enter the width, the height and the length.

If no model matches, your tank is from a maker that is not in the registry yet. Use the tank volume calculator or the unknown tank guide.

Research: we checked every tank here against its maker's own documents — what we found, with a CSV of the data.

FAQ

How do I find out what tank I have?

Measure the outside of the tank, select its shape, and enter the measurements here. The tool lists the registry models that are close. Then read the label or nameplate on the tank to confirm the model.

Why does my tank not match?

The registry holds only models whose makers publish dimensions. Your tank can be from another maker, or the tank can be older than the current documents. Use the tank volume calculator with your own measurements.
