With hemispherical heads (“Hemi”), a 41.00 in outside diameter and 188.500 in overall length, the outside of the vessel encloses 999.2 gal; the 1000 gal water capacity is 0.1 % more, the difference being steel wall thickness and the dimensions' rounding. Propane tanks are read with the float gauge, which shows percent of water capacity directly — this chart is for checking a gauge or for a tank used for something other than propane. Never put a stick in a pressurised tank.

What we found checking the maker's documents

  • Probable misprint: liters printed '3875.4' for 1000 gal (1000 US gal is 3785.4 l — digits transposed). Recorded as printed.
  • Conflict between official docs: Rev. 4/11/2025 sheet gives Overall Length 15’ 8 1/2" (4787.9 mm); the Dec-2024 spec sheet gives '1000 gal - 15' 11"'. The newer Rev. 4/11/2025 value is recorded as primary.
